Terms of Use
By using this site you accept the terms below. In short: the content is reference information, not legal advice; every claim carries a source and a verification date; the licensing authority is always the final authority; and the site is provided as it is, without warranty. Effective October 8, 2026.
01 Not legal advice
Everything here is general reference information about contractor licensing requirements. It is not legal advice, not a legal opinion, and not a substitute for consulting a licensed attorney or your state's licensing authority. Projects, classifications and exemptions interact with facts the site cannot see — your entity structure, your contract, your local jurisdiction. For any decision with consequences, verify against the official lookup and the authority itself.
02 Sources, dates and limits
- Every claim is sourced — requirements cite the statute, agency page or official document they came from, with the date that source was last verified.
- Verification dates are real — a page last verified months ago may describe a rule that has since changed; the date tells you exactly that, and the official source is the current word.
- Conflicts are disclosed, not resolved — when two official documents disagree, both readings are published. The site does not choose for the authority.
- Gaps are marked, not filled — NOT_VERIFIED and NOT_DETERMINED mean the sources did not answer; no number was invented to close the gap.
03 The authority is final
The licensing authority is the final authority on any requirement — statutes, codes and official interpretations change without notice here. Where this site and an official source disagree, the official source wins; if you find such a case, send it to the contact address on the contact page and it will be checked against the document.
04 Permitted use
- Read, link and quote — quoting short passages with attribution and a link to the page is welcome; wholesale republication presented as your own research is not.
- No misrepresentation — do not present this content as official, as endorsed by any agency, or as legal advice.
- No scraping at abusive rates — the site is a small reference library; human-scale access and linking are the intended use.
05 No warranty
The site is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for decisions made in reliance on this content — the entire point of the sourcing and verification design is that you can, and should, check the original document yourself. The privacy policy governs data; these terms govern use.
